Postdoctoral Position in Computational Neuroscience in the Neural Computation Lab - Harvard-IIT Collaboration Programme

One post-doctoral position will be available in the Laboratory of Neural Computation, directed by Prof. Stefano Panzeri and located within the Center for Neuroscience and Cognitive Systems @UniTn, Rovereto (Tn), Italy, to work in computational neuroscience.

The successful candidate will work on neural population coding in close collaboration with Chris Harvey’s lab at Harvard Medical School (Boston, (http://harveylab.hms.harvard.edu) and Stefano Panzeri’s lab at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (Rovereto, Italy, http://www.iit.it/en/people/stefano-panzeri.html).

The successful candidate will develop new analytical methods to study how populations of neurons encode sensory information and how this information is used to produce decisions.

The candidate will apply these methods to large-scale recordings of neurons in sensory areas and posterior parietal cortex using calcium imaging methods that navigate in a virtual reality environment.
